This can be caused by a faulty fuel pump wire connector, has the fuel pump and connector ever been changed that you know of?
In rare cases it can be a bad pump or a short in wiring usually the fuel pump wires near the frame.

Thumbs up ECM fuse blows

ECM fuse blows : I had parked the truck at work, (1998 Tahoe 5.7) , and went to leave and it did not start. Found the ECM fuse blown; replaced, and blew again. I removed the fuel pump relay, and it did not blow, but of course it did not start; I jumped pins 30 to 87 of where the fuel relay goes, and started the car. Turned everything off, and replaced the relay, and a new ECM fuse, and truck works fine. Obvious, that the fuel pump or the fuel level sender is having an issue. Try not to let it get to low on fuel like I do, the pump probably froze up, it's been below freezing around here, I probably get water in the tank, as I smell gas once in a while.
