Default 2002 Suburban 8.1 stalls once every day.

I have a 2002 Suburban 8.1 that the first 4-6 miles down the road in the morning will shut down. Let set for a minute or two and will start back up. Will run just fine the rest of the day with no problems. Have put new battery, spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter and fuel pump. No codes are showing up. Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Might be the crankshaft position sensor.
I believe there was a 'recall' or certainly a bulletin for 2003.
My 2002 would occasionally hesitate/stall while driving.
I had mine replaced and no problems after.
I think I paid around $200.
I tried to get to it myself, but I finally gave up. The Chevy tech did it in about 15 minutes.

hbah,
Mine did this, but there was a "Reduced Power" Message shown, with a "Check Engine" as well. I had to replace the Throttle Body Harness, to correct the problem.

tasturbo,
A Recall !, could you give any information as to where I may see the criteria for that Recall.. a Link ?

Thanks SWHouston. I just dropped it off at the shop. Last night I put fuel in it and the fuel gauge quit working when I started it back up. When I pulled out of the gas station the ABS light and Brake light came on (WTF). So i drove about 2 miles and had to wait on a train to go by. I thought i would turn the engine off and see if the lights came back on. I turned off, then turned the key to ACC, the the light ABS and Brake light didnt come on. So i went to crank the engine and it wouldnt start until about 8 cranks. Since the shop put in the fuel pump on the 15th they will have to fix it and i told them about the crankshaft position sensor. I will call them and have them check the harness. This thing is starting to get to me.

hbah,

WOW, I'd be a little miffed about that as well.
I had NO idea how much the "fly by wire" approach had been integrated into our vehicles. I think the only actual physical connection I have with my Burb is the Emergency Brake Cable.

There have been literally thousands of instances/situations, shared by millions of owners on problems related to the electronics/on-board computers. Given the advancement in Computer Electronics, I would have expected nearly a autonomous ability from our cars, rather than repeated failures of that system to perform the most basic tasks.

I think that GM needs to get Microsoft involved in this, and get our stuff where it's drivable.
