The transmission in my 04 Tahoe lost(completely nothing but whining if I put in reverse)reverse last night and drive still pulls but is having a hard time shifting. So I figure the trans is toast. I have a buddy that has a motor and trans out of a 99 Silverado 1500 4wd 5.3L, and he's willing to let go of the trans. I went to several different websites and they all say both trans are a 4L60-E 4WD. So my question is since they're the same trans type should I be able to take the Silverado trans and put it right in my Tahoe and everything should match up?
