2005 Tahoe- smoke on start
2005 Tahoe, 155k miles, V8 5.3L
Problem: white smoke when I start it, smells burnt not sweet. Fluid levels are good, no changes in fluid levels, no leaking.
It was doing everytime I started now it does it every other time I start it.
Anyone else having problem like this?

i would ignore it for now. colder weather normally leads to people seeing more smoke and the first thing that comes to mind is somethings wrong. keep an eye on your fluids just to make sure and i wouldnt be alarmed unless youre loosing fluid or the cel comes on
My 07' Suburban is the same..and I get smoke when its low on oil and it has sat for a while...probably just getting oil around the rings first thing on startup and then it warms up a bit and it goes away...seems to help if the oil is full though...
Update. Mechanic said not worry about it until the smoke is constant bc it is gaskets that are getting worn and oil on them and it is costly and a lot of work to remove and change them. you have to take the solenoid out, send it out for repair and replacement and then put it all back together. he noted that even though i have 155K miles on my car is not a lot and its not hurting the car so i should wait.
has anyone had this issue before?

that occurs and if you live in a state that allows for it's removal, then do so when it's time to do so..
Like others have said and your mechanic, don't worry about it right now. I wouldn't worry about the converter either. Also, you may want to put in your signature your location. That could have something to do with the white smoke, if you're in a cold or damp location.
