Default 2007 Chevy Suburban fuel level problem

Hi all I have a 2007 Chevy Suburban LTZ with a 5.3 flex fuel. The issue Im having is I installed a new fuel pump and sending unit and now my fuel guage stays on empty. There are 2 blue wires coming off of the fuel pump connecter down to the sending unit. The sending unit has 3 "ports" numbered with roman numerals I, II, and III. Do the blue wires go in a certain port or does it not matter? Im wondering if I either have the blue wires in the wrong location or if I somehow need to reset the fuel level sensor. If it needs reset how do I do it? Any help suggestions or otherwise is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any information
