Default 2007 Tahoe LT3 Idle Problem

I have had my Tahoe for 2 months now and have experienced an idle issue since day 1. When I come to a stop, it feels like the idle skips a beat some times....a little bouncy at times at idle. I have brought it to the dealer twice and they said that it's normal since they didn't find any codes. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what was the fix?

Thanks in advance!

I've also noticed this...haven't taken in, cause I know they'd tell me what they told you - "it's normal"...it's very intermittent, but you can definitely feel it when it happens.

The official company line is "It's operating as designed"

There was a thread on this a few months back that I cant find about this issue. Maybe someone can find it for you.

Basically (According to ZX1100F1 (Our resident GM guru) the slight rough idling has something to do with meeting federal or california emissions from what I recall. Something about the air ratio and the engine being tuned to run rich or lean (Cant remember).

I noticed it at first as well, but as my engine broke in the roughness basically is almost all gone.

Thank you for the update and the welcome!

I am at about 3,500 miles and feel as though this should be gone! What mileage were you at when this began to fade away?

Your Welcome. It seemed to get better around 2500-3000 miles from what I remember. I hope somebody here can find that thread I was refering to earlier in this thread.

We have 22K+ on the '07 and we still have the slight jump. When I took her in 2 weeks ago, they blamed it on the outdated transmission in the Hoe's. Explained that when you come to a stop, the transmission shifts all the way down to 1st and you may stop before that shift happens. When you do, and the transmission shifts, that is when you feel the jump. I don't buy it, but I don't drive the Hoe every day and so far the wife hasn't rammed someone from behind because of it either!

That explanation sort of flys in the face of what ZX said about what a great tranny this is (which I agree with)

I am not sure if I explained the problem good enough, so here it is again! When at idel, my tahoe does not sit smooth. It feels like it skips a beat when at idle, somewhat of a bumpy feel. The RPM's stay still and the dealer says that they cannot find a code to fix the problem. They pulled up another new Tahoe to replicate it with a different ride and come to find, it does the same thing...just not as bad! This doesn't feel right to me. Any other car I have owned idled very smoothy without a hiccup!

Could someone please advise! Thanks.
