A cracked dashboard indicates a structural issue beyond mere leather or vinyl filler. Furthermore, most dashes are either rigid plastic or vinyl laminated to a thick foam pad. Neither can be sub-patched. A flexible epoxy is the best solution.

I owned a 2011 Tahoe LT and it had the same crack. It is a common problem. Don’t replace the dashboard, instead order a dash mat from Covercraft. They’re only around $50, they’re quality mats and they look decent once installed. If you replace the cracked dash, more likely than not, it will crack again. It’s a known problem for that generation.

just wait. It’s going to get a lot worse. And it’s going to crack at passenger airbag. It’s a very well known defect that gm refuses to address.

GM did address it under warranty. I had mine replaced but since it will happen again because the type material used is pretty much the same as what Dodge Ram trucks used. The sunlight destroys it. Lesson learned they are using different materials now to prevent this from happening. Want to clean it up either replace it or put a cover on it.

Three weeks ago, I purchased a pristine used 2011 Yukon XL Denali for Mrs. Cusser; this vehicle came from the mid-west, always garaged, babied. She took the horse/trailer on a dirt road yesterday and the dashboard cracked on both sides.

Apparently this is a common issue on GM vehicles 2007-2014 (Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, Avalanche, etc.), and there was a class-action lawsuit, and GM won. https://www.carparts.com/blog/the-la...ed-dash-issue/ This link offers suggestions how to fix, etc. There are aftermarket overlays which can be glued on, simple dashboard covers, plastic welding/painting (might be ABS plastic).
So GM is in a position to profit from its own mistake: poor materials and design flaw. So sad.

I used this but it is the one piece skin not the two piece. It fits like a glove. It is only noticeable at the two side AC vents where it ends. Mine is titanium and a perfect match to the original dash.

We purchased a 2011 Yukon a couple of years ago; it's dashboard cracked within 2 months (Arizona, but the Yukon came from Chicago area), so I bought a carpetlike cover through Amazon, and glued that over the cracked one, looked decent. That's when I found this thread and realized the cracking was due to a defect and that GM ignored it for quite a few years.
After a red-light runner totaled that Yukon, we replaced it with a 2014 Yukon, which has an intact dash.
I believe that I salvaged the dashmat from the 2011 when it was totaled. Just in case...

I decided that after seeing the underside of the original dash pad and the redesigned pad that the problem was caused by rigidly attaching in multiple places across the body. All they did with the redesign was add some more ribbing for strength. As I remember the issue back in the day, the new design cracked also. If they had gone to slotted holes which would allowed some movement then it probably wouldn't have cracked.
