2007 Tahoe PPV died - doors made clicking sound...

to the OP. the fact that everything resets with a battery disconnect leads me to believe a bad module. When a module goes down, communication codes will be set. Have a shop check for communication codes or U codes in all modules.
tahoeman...your wife's car is a ??? Can you be specific on the symptoms.

I disconnected the battery and the problem seemed to go away. Drove around the block shut her down and dead again! I've just fixed all the issues with my Avalanche now this car is acting up!
When I say dead the car won't even respond to the key fob...Nothing happens when you turn the key!

Sounds like you have the same exact problem I have. It's so random that I've just dealt with it, and I keep a wrench in the console. If you find out what the issue is, please let me know!
Thanks,
Rob

Had a 02 impala with similiar issues. Would get no crank and no door lock, fob or anything bcm controlled would not work. Theft codes and no communication with the bcm. Battery disconnect or bcm disconnect instantly fixed the problem. A replacement bcm was programmed to the car and the problem was solved.
Find out what module is losing communication...getting the codes read would be the starting point
