I've got an 08 Suburban and the round button on the underside of the liftgate near the liscence plate has stopped working. The rubber coating has come off and I'm wondering what the fix is? Has anyone experienced this????

Welcome to the forum.

You need to have your parts man look it up in the catalog. I suspect that the rubber cover is part of the switch assembly and cannot be obtained separately. The other choice would be to try to get one from a salvage yard.

 

Yea, I had it happen to me also, once the rubber breaks, the button falls out, I lost mine in the wood, I just use my keyfob now.
