So the 2011 OnStar / my link thing almost makes me want OnStar...

how can I get my '09 Tahoe to do this?

what modules / software would need replaced / added?

Lifetime MPG, lock/ unlock/start from ANYWHERE. (from my iphone).

Yeah its a cool feature, only way I could see it being added is if your BCM could be re-flashed with the updated software....

yes GM is finally trying to keep up with the new Ford tech, but GM still wants you to pay for On Star to get these features...if I am correct?

Found this on OnStar website:

When will the OnStar MyLink mobile app be available for previous model year vehicles?
Extending the mobile app to pre-2011 model year vehicles is currently under evaluation

Might not have to change anything Sabr!!

Default features

My friend and I went to lunch the other day in his 2011 caddy... he wasn't sure if he locked it after we were seated. pulls out his iphone (I have one too) and locks the car.

That's cool.

Does ford do that free?

The remote locking / start / stop would be something nice because when I'm at work I could remote start my car from inside the office...

Yeah what that means is: well we have to see how many GMT900 owners still have OnStar enabled to see if its profitable for us to do the re-flash for the BCM.. its not about the user its about the bottom line...cynical I know, but its all about money

ousig2408, I checked the OnStar website and found that you do have to have an active OnStar subscription and a website username and password in order to use the app but for the actual app itself it does not show a price or that you would have to purchase the app from your respective app store. I hope that helps to answer your question and if you would like you can check out www.onstar.com/web/portal/mobile for more information on the application itself if you haven't already.

"The OnStar1 MyLink™ mobile app is available on select 2011 GM vehicles"

right from the site.

Make it work on my 09 Tahoe and I would love you forever Jeff...

I'd even get an OnStar subscription just for you!

Hell, make the heated seat on my truck work (which has been to the shop now 3x) and me love you long time

Doesn't 3X for the same problem trip your lemon law? Also I thought you had it in at least three times to get your "voice tag" nav to work before they bought you off.

I tried to activate the the"My link" using my Android phone with my 07 Tahoe and it told me my vehicle is not eligible and its only for select 2011 vehicles....
