2013 Burb Rear Brake wear question
Noticed that that back driver side wheel was getting coated in brake dust. So, checked both rear calipers and pads. On the passenger side there was plenty of pad and no uneven wear from inside to outside pads. The driver side, bot inner and outer were both almost completer gone with just a small leading edge of each pad showing metal. Question...Why the big difference between each side?. I just drove it for about 6 miles in stop and go traffic. Got home, no difference in heat from one side to the other. So that rules out caliper hanging up??
the pads may be stuck in the caliper bracket or the caliper pins may be seized. when was the last time the brakes were serviced? Part of replacing and maintaining brakes requires the pins to be clean and lubricated with brake lubricant. the caliper brackets must be removed, the clips cleaned and removed and any rust build up removed.
take the caliper bracket off...the pads should slide in the bracket...if you have to hammer them out=bad
