2022 Suburban High Country - Shut off on freeway
@Cusser didnt realize this thread is not from a new post. I tried it on my cell phone and it just continued i guess. Apologies.
Update: Contacted the dealership, they need to replace the engine!! They have ordered a new engine (I checked and they said NEW engine and not a refurbished one since its under warranty) and will be in by a week and assembly will take another week. They said some metal piece inside the engine is broken.
Few questions which i forgot to check at the dealership looking for any directions:
1. Since its another brand new engine, will my VIN change? OR anything on the documentation change?
2. Will the engine replacement be on my Carfax?
3. Will there be a new warranty for the engine?

no. VIN is part of the vehicle not the engine
I would keep a record of the miles when the engine was changed for myself.
likely
There better be. You need to verify that with the dealer.

This same thing happened to me. Dealership had to replace the engine after the engine was replaced after 10k miles the same thing is happening again. Car is now back at the dealership.
Just bought a 2023 Suburban with 7500 miles. I get it to 13k 6 months later. I’m taking my wife to the airport and it just dies on the highway. 100k car. I’m beyond pissed. Got it back a week later. Said it was the main battery fuse block and main engine fuse block. Something like that. Went to the bank a bit ago and now it’s making this terrible squeaking noise and died again. It started but has zero, pick up and dies every time I stop. Back to the dealership with my lemon.
Hi All,
I had a very scary encounter with my brand new car. On a freeway at 70mph speed cruising, suddenly the car lost power and moved it to Neutral gear and shut off. I moved to the curb and tried restarting the car, no response from the engine. The check engine light was on. With a message on the screen when I try to do anything “ the car is not conducive enough to shift to drive” or something on those lines. I tried after waiting 20 to 30 mins, same thing. Called for towing and they couldn’t move it to neutral. The car was dragged on to the trailer bed and transported.
Dealership has no idea about what happened and they believe the engine might need a replacement!! No clue when they can get the parts or the engine. This is a ridiculous situation to be in. The car is brand new and run about 23k miles and still very much in warranty.
Anyone faced similar situation? Feels like it’s not a reliable car.
