Default 3rd transmission in 2007 ltz tahoe 4x4

i am on my 3rd transmission in my 07 it has 100k miles on the dot. the first one i blew screwing around in the snow (my fault) 2nd one trying to merge on to the highway floored it and it just slipped.
im scared that the third one is getting ready to blow because it typically has a fluid temp of 220 degrees
also i use it to haul hay sometimes and for the most part its stock i usually run a hypertech max energy on the fuel econ tune but when i tow i remove the tune

in the picture im pulling a bobcat trailer with 150 square bales
i realize this isnt easy on the transmission but i dont think its enough to make it blow
any help would be appreciated

hauling that much weight with a factory trans cooler is not helping it, that's for sure. i highly recommend replacing the cooler with a heavy, heavy duty unit. you might be wise to invest in heavier clutches and such for your trans. have a good tranny shop rebuild it, and tell them what you are doing. that way they can use better internal parts. also, do not use overdrive at all when hauling, in fact, you should have a tow/haul feature. use that. with no overdrive. all this should help to lower trans temps, and might just give the trans a fighting chance.

it can be done easy enough, but i would still opt for a heavier one than that. contact summit or jegs, get a good aftermarket set up. shouldnt be too expensive. maybe 100 or so. maybe little less. i went this route with my 04 duramax. the stock cooler couldn't keep up. i replaced it in couple hours with a heavier one.

I dont think there is room underneath to route dual exhaust (pipes on each side I mean). You dont "need" anything else really unless you just want to mod more for fun. what you do need is to keep your trans temps down below 220 for sure and closer to 200 if possible. transmissions HATE to be that hot and the life really suffers quickly
Keep your fluid fresh also if you tow very often also - may want to change it out every 20,000 miles or so

i havent had a chance to look underneath it yet to see about room for duels. as far as the trans temp does anyone know if the actual tempature guage in the dash is accurate? im not sure when the last time the fluid was changed but would that really make that big of a difference in the tempature?

more that the high temps in the past will break down the fluid much quicker and lessen the effectiveness. how many miles do you have on the current transmission? that is probably the original fluid so will be easy to tell
I have not heard of anyone stating the in dash temp guage was not accurate. I imagine it is, considering the simplicity and the detail it provides to 1 degree

this one has about 20k miles on it and the car has 100K. im getting concerned now though because i was driving today and i mashed on it pretty hard to pass someone and it down shifted hard to 2nd and then it spun to 4500 rpm before it shifted and at this point i was less than half throttle so im guessing this one is getting ready to blow.
is it common for these things to go through transmissions like this?

kywill welcome to the forum, temps over 200f for extended periods are hard on the transmission... a cooler is a very good idea, you can purchase the factory cooler for cheap from GM parts direct and its a fairly easy install...
