4wd knob warm

I have a 2007 Tahoe, and I've noticed that the knob to switch the 4wd system gets really warm. It's not hot to the touch, but it seems odd to me that it's warmer than most knobs. Likewise, the headlight knob next to it is warmer than most, but not as warm as the 4wd knob. Any ideas why? This can't be normal, is it?
