I'm a big fan of OEM for life and reliability.

These aftermarket wheels are kind of ugly I think 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo188.jpg
Back to the question, will those 17 3500 work van fit the 97 K2500?

You could measure the bolt pattern and tell that way. I'll bet a dime to a doughnut they would fit. You might call a tire and wheel store and ask. They probably know off of the top of their head.

I figured it out now. There are websites that would provide all specs. For example, the 09 won't be an exact fit to the 97.

Let the journey begin. The main issue with this rig is no compression on #4. Looks like a coolant leak caused the issue.
I will document everything with pictures so I can revert to it when I get lost. Tricks and tips are welcome.
Engine bay before starting the surgery:

Air box removed 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo613.jpg
Engine air filter looks new so I saved it. Washed out the dust from the air box. 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo294.jpg
Mass air sensor removed and cleaned with CRC cleaner. Covered both ends with foil and washed the tubes. 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo419.jpg
Next is the throttle body. There are 3 nuts to remove but I can't figure out how to remove the cables yet. Looks like it's time for a break.

Have anyone here tried a product called Calgon Nu Brite for engine cleaning? Calgon Nu Brite is not an acid and it works great on condenser coils and restaurant grease.
I tried it on the kitchen hood filters and all the grease were gone with spray on and rinse. Absolutely no scrubs.
Not sure of the effect on paint and rubber parts thus the question. I have no affiliations with Calgon and I am not here to promote the product. Just wanting to see if anyone here with experience. 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo617.jpg

I didn't get much done today. I spent too much time trying to remove the throttle cables and couldn't figured out so I removed the 1/2in and the 5.5mm bolts that hold the cables in place. The throttle body came out with the cables intact 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo451.jpg
Having the throttle body on hands help me figured out the mechanics and the cables are off. 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo44.jpg
First part to order is the throttle body gasket GM12551240.
Before and after pictures with CRC cleaner 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo504.jpg97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo77.jpg
First look inside the engine and it's nasty. 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo702.jpg
Not sure where I should go next. Open up the gasket or go on to the driver side?

Yesterday I washed the engine bay as I believe I will have to crawl and lay on the engine to do the works. Disconnected and removed the battery. Foils covered sensitive areas and power washed. 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo638.jpg

I also turned the petcock to drain the coolant overnight. The petcock can't be seen but can be reached from the top and I was able to turn it with bare hand. It's on the driver side of the radiator. 97 K2500 Suburban - Get or No-photo264.jpg
