I finally found it! After looking over the wires several times and not finding anything in the steering column area I started looking closer to the firewall. That's where I finally found it. Chevy must have thought it could be a possible place for wires to rub so they put a piece of rubber there. But the wires rubbed through any way. I fixed the wires and then zip tied them so that they couldn't go that far and touch that area again. Thanks for the help Brad. I appreciate it.
