I hope this isn't a stupid question. My 4L60E tranny in my 99 is acting up. Seems like 3rd and overdrive is gone. 1st to 2nd has no problem. And reverse is fine also. But when it tries to shift into 3rd and overdrive, it's like in neutral and the rpm's rev up. Is it shot? I diddo a filter kit service on it today but still has the problem. Thanks for any help.

Youwill most surelyneed an overhaul. It's gone beyond the filter & fluid change stage. Mine did that and it was caused by the torque converter overheating the fluid and boiling out of the transmission. It will probably run you from $800 - $1200 for the job.
