Default ABS Light and Crunch sound

I have a 2005 Chevy Suburban 1500. The ABS light started to come on. I start the truck and there is no light. I drive and get to about 5-8 mph , the lights dim for a second, I hear a crunch sound. The ABS light comes on and the lights go back to normal. No other noises. I don't hear the pump running. Does this should like the pump or the module is bad. Or perhaps somethong else.

Welcome to the forum...

crunch sound? can you be more specific... maybe a relay clicking sound?
Where is the sound coming from?
Have you checked/re-seated fuses and relays?

That you for the reply. I was away from a comouter this weekend and the site would not let me login with my phone.
Anyway. The noise is a cruch. It not a relay clicking. The sound comes from the Drivers side either under he the drivers floor or on the firewall. I can feel it thru my feet when the noise happens. It almost sounds as if the pump is trying to start but perhaps binding? I don't know, I not familiar with how the pump operates.

I would suggest having someone depress the brake pedal while you inspect under the hood and under the vehicle to see if you can narrow down where the sound is being produced....

I guess I didn't explain well enough even after you asked. Let me try again.

The Crunch sound comes from around the drives side. Either on the fire wall or under the drivers floor pan. It only make the cruch once. It never happens when I press the brake petal.
He is what happens. I start the truck and no ABS light everything is fine. I drive forward or backwards about 5-8 mph. Then I hear a crunch. All the lights dim then come back to normal. The crunch sound is gone. Then I get the Ding Ding Ding and the ABS light it on. I will not hear the sound again until I stop, shut the car off and start again. If I leave it running and stop put it in part and tehn drive again I don't hear the sound. It sound as if the pump trys to engauge but is binding. Is that even possible?

Based on your description, I'd say your pump is shot.

Well I had a Christmas miracle. On The 24th I went out to the store to get some stuff. When I drove out of the parking lot at the store i noticed something different. I did not hear the cruch at 5mph, the the light did not come on and the I did not get the 3 dings signaling an issue. I went to a few other places and teh same thing nothing. Now this has been ans issue for the last 6 monthes. Everythime I drove the ABS light went on. Over thelast 6 months it never did not come on. So I guess I will have to attach the computer again and see if it cleared the code as well.
I don't expect it to continue to stay off. So hopefully I get by until I pass inspection and the weather warms so I can change the pump.
