Default Are all the 5.3s flex fuel

Hello all so i am in the market to purchase a new used tahoe or yukon and i want an 07 or newer with a 5.3. I was told at the dealer by one of the parts guys that the 5.3 motors that have the oil consumption problem were only the flex fuel motors. Is this true and are all the 5.3s in 07 and up flex fuel?? thanks

There's more than one 5.3.
There's a tag stuck in the Glove Box with RPO identifiers on it, that's how that specific vehicle was set up. Look for a sequence starting with the letter "L", or possibly "LS", then...

Go to the link below, find the ID, and click on that to see the specs for that engine. You'll also see specs for (5.3's) and other engines as well.

PS: first time I've herd of an oil problem with the 5.3 Ffv !

AFAIK, all GMT900s are FlexFuel but I could be wrong.

In 07 I believe it was optional. Almost positive.

Yeah, I was just reading about this on here the other day. I'm less than thrilled to learn about this, as my 07 has the FlexFuel option.
