amp location
hello all! I have recently purchased a used 2004 suburban... it has a Bose sound system, but i am having issues with it... the radio works - it turns on, i can change stations, etc., but I am not able to hear anything from the speakers... i do hear sound when I plug headphones into the jack at the rear of the center console, but that is all... i have found suggestions stating that it could be an amp issue... my question for the community is - where the heck is the amp located??? Thank you all for any help provided!
ok, let's try this - i found somewhere that stated the amp may be under the center console, but i looked and there is no amp there nor is there any wiring that would indicate that an amp was ever there. could the amp be located anywhere else? i don't really feel like tearing apart my vehicle just trying to locate it.
or let's try this question - do all suburbans with a Bose system come with an amp?

Rats - I had an 05 with that system but don't recall location. I do know my 93 has the amp under the driver's seat but that's an entirely different system.
Did the system work when you bought it?

no, i got a really good deal on this vehicle as it needs quite a bit of work! i have already repaired AC issues, hammered out a few dents in a couple of the doors, repaired window mechanisms, and replaced some interior trim pieces... i still need to look into an exhaust leak, repair a steering issue, replace a few more trim pieces (both exterior and interior), as well as a few other things... but i really would like to get the audio problem resolved - i am using the vehicle for family road trips and i would like to ditch the temporary little speaker i connect to my phone and be able to actually use the Bose system!
