Default Auto Climate Control/Outside Thermometer

I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ and just recently I noticed the Outside Thermoeter (in the rearview mirror) was not working. Also noticed that when I use the auto start the AC/Heat was not working either. Wondering if they are connected and seeing that the warranty just ended, is it an easy fix or something that going to cost an arm and a leg and my first born?

Default first

first AND second born.

sorry. I have no idea... on mine the temp is on the DIC. (funny name). not the rear view...

they may be connected, the truck would turn on the A/C or heat based on the outside temp... if it does not know the outside temp or inside it may not come on...

Ok, just had a hot day and the AC came on w/the auto start!!! WHEW!! :-) So it just looks like the theromometer is not working. So is this an easy fix like switching out a fuse or do I have to replace the entire rearview mirror?

does the compass work in the mirror? if nothing shows up there then you can push the button on it (not onstar button) and you can cycle through what shows up in the mirror

dab7547,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. Have you tried changing fuse 49?

Thank you,
Elizabeth, GM Customer Service

dab7547: Welcome to the forum.

Might also check the temp. sensor itself or wiring to it. If the truck ever had front end damage, the sensor/wiring could have been compromised.

The compass also went out too w/the therometer. Haven't checked the fuse yet and the wiring. Will give it a try though. :-)
