Default awd to 4wd conversion

hi i have an 05 suburban that has awd and I want to convert it to a regular push button 4wd and was wondering if anybody has done this and what is involved besides the interior button could I just change out the transfer case or would I have also change out the front and rear diffs too. I have tried to look up info on this and everybody just seems to fight over the definition of all wheel drive and full time 4wd so any info about the actual conversion would be great thanks

Never heard of an "all wheel drive" sub - can't wait to hear what the smart ones have to say on this topic!

If it's a Chevrolet Suburban, it's not awd. It may have the auto 4wd **** but that already goes into 4wd hi and lo. I had heard about the caddy a and some gmc's that were awd.

It's a pretty rare option. Personally, I have no idea what the differences are in the transfer case between the AWD and 4WD versions.

it should be an easy change. the ss silerado of that generation were awd in Canada but the American versions were part time 4wd.

never heard of all time 4wd before
