Tahoe & SuburbanThe power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.
Winter is coming and It would be a good idea to find out whay my heater blower does not work.
I do not know why the previous owner has added a switch to run the fan. it was functional until last week but now the fan does not react anymore.
I removed the fan or air box this afternoon and look what I found
Does anyone have any idea what the guy wanted to do with these connections before I get sent to orbit trying to reconnect everything normally?
When you turned on the fan with the switch, did you have any control on the speeds? Looks like he put a switch and a relay in to turn on the fan directly bypassing the factory controls and the resistor.
Hi. You are right, no speed control. I removed the resistor and all the strange wiring this morning. Looks like the blower itself is dead. I will remove it and try another one. I will let you know
While you are looking without power on of course, drop down the resistor unit to check it. That could have been the problem was all along. Good luck. *BW*
I will buy a new resistor. Unfortunately I think that the fan motor is also involved. This morning it worked for about ten minutes then began to cut himself intermittently. What I do not understand is why the guy spent time and money to bypass a unit that costs $15 to change. I guess I'll find out in a short time.
