Went to local dealer again about handles. The SD said there was an updated handle with "clips" that came out about a year ago. Anybody ever heard of that? It was my first enlightenment on this new handle (LOL). Anyway, getting nowhere with dealer (surprise), and they never even called me back after saying they would review my situation with the "boss" and call me on my cell. I have a track of all calls on my cell, and they haven't tried to call me in almost a week. Guess they're not going to. Anyway, Louis, if you can help me with this case, would be nice!

Louis,
I can report that the doorhandle issue issue has been resolved with the local dealer, under warranty. They replaced at no charge and I'm happy with the service, as they were very nice and apologetic too. I'll continue doing business with them here. Thank you for your help in this case!! With now 6 replacements, hopefully no more problems with doorhandles. Thanks to Matt at GM too!

I am on hold with the number provided right now.
Broken door handle, light sensor on dash don't work multiple times.
Drivers side door holding water after a rain.
Paint chipping off steering wheel center on top where it isn't even being touched at all.
And more.

Just got off the phone and have a case number, and they are also supposed to find out why I am having so much trouble with driverside mirror on my truck since new.
Between these two vechicles we have a 100K sitting in the driveway.

Last time I took the truck in for service ( oil change & lube ) they said I needed to have the exhaust cleaned out.
I told them to go ahead, but have never heard of this being done on a diesel engine before.
Imagine my suprise when I got the bill!
Almost $400.00 when I took it in for service.

Also have had the transfer oil changed at their request.
They are Stealerships for sure.
When car sales are down,
I would bet without the service department they would go belly up.
Thanks for listening
Lee

On Edit
If you plan to buy a Chevy Truck for towing such as an RV, stay away from the horizontal mirrors.
Make sure the vertical ones are installed if not already there.
Mine are the powered extending type and aren't worth a flip.
I just might be buying after market ones.

Angry Door Handles on Tahoe

The car is out of factory warranty, but it seems to me that they would replace these at no cost on a vehicle that cost $60K new.
This is a very common problem from what I am hearing and Chevy would not cover this while my Tahoe was under warranty. They say they have no record of me coming in and that is true because I called them on the phone and they specifically said this item was not covered under warrenty and their quote was around $500.00 to have all four handles replaced. I eventually had them replaced elsewhere and had to pay around $500.00. Better business needs to be notified of this problem and sometimes they go to bat for the consumers when companies don't stand behind a defect.

Thanks Louis.
I did call the number you provided.
Couldn't contact you without an ext. #.
I talked to John.

We have been waiting 2 months to get into service.
Seems my wife has another problem with maybe the tranny, or the brake knowing it has been pressed.
If you back out of the driveway and stop to go forwards nothing happens.
Put it back in park with brake on a couple of times and then you can go.
It don't happen everytime.
But that is why they still have it waiting in line as we are told.

Haven't heard it they used the screw for the door handle or the new clip back one. I did ask John if the others should be replaced before they break. He said he would ask Tracy at David Stanley Chevrolet what he thought about it.
Well if they are going to charge me $100.00 per item in spite of it having Major Guard on it.
I know what he will say.
Thanks,
Lee
