I was thinking about having my o7 tahoe roof rack side rails chromed. Has anyone out ther done this? If so can you post pictures. I know I could go with escalade racks but I was thinking about some thing different and less expensive. From what I find on the net I will spend approx $400.00 on the escalade rack. I can get both side rails stripped and chromed for about $100.00 each. I have a hook up at the body shop next to my work, they will prep and paint my mount brackets for free. Please share your opinions on this, postive or negative.

 

The esky racks hug the vehicle; our non-esky racks have a gap between them and the roof. I would not like the way it looks. But remember it is personal preference so do what you like best.
Besides, nothing ventured nothing gained!

 

If you've added chrome elsewhere like grill, mirrors, door handles, running board edge, etc, then it would fit in. Otherwise not sure how it'd look. But if it's what you like, then that's what counts.
