Default Clunk in the front end when starting from a stop

My 2006 suburban has developed a slight "clunk" when taking off from a dead stop, it does not do it from a rolling stop or if a take off really slow. Any ideas at what I could look at?

Welcome to the forum.

First guess would be U-joints. Try shifting from Drive to Reverse and back w/ the brakes on.

Second would be something in the suspension.

If there is excessive play in the U-joints, you can hear/feel it when reversing the drive shaft to take up the slop.

Another possibility is greasing the yoke on the driveshaft. These trucks have a tendency to do this. Greasing the slip joint solved my problem.

Check the shock mount bolts at top and bottom.
