Drivers Side Door ...Trick??
So folks, I got a 2005 Suburban 2500 LT 4X4 w/ the 8.1. The Keys, and key fob all work fine. & the Other three(3) doors all open and shut as they should. But that silly drivers side door is not in the mood. So.....i think I got it all figured out that the door "release linkage" has broken, or slipped outta place. The problem is.....it's done this in the "closed" position, thus NOT allowing me access to the door-panel screws, so I can remove the panel and fix the linkage.
My question for you fine folks is....."is there a trick, or any sort of hidden access point to get that door open, allowing me said access?? 🤔
Please and thank you.

Latch and lock actuator are one assembly. I had that issue in a '09 Malibu. Open the rear door and use a rod or ratchet extension bar to reach in and whack the bar with a hammer and ''shock'' the latch assy.. Make sure door lock **** is in unlocked position. I hit mine on the screws that hold the latch in place so the shock went directly into the latch. One door took a few hits to unlock, the other just a couple. The latch assemblies stick in the locked position. Replace the entire latch assembly.
Way back - we bought a 1988 Suburban in 1994. While on vacation in California, driver door lock stuck in locked position, could not unlock the driver door with
...key
...electric lock/unlock switch
...pulling up manually on the lock "pull"
So we finished the trip with me entering in through the passenger side and scooting over, had same issue as you: how to fix when closed door prevented taking the door panel off.
A month later, all of a sudden the door did unlock; I shoved Mrs. Cusser away, pulled off the door panel, and squirted in aerosol lubricant on everything involved, to clean and lubricate. Never got stuck again.
