I just had my oil changed this morning and the body shop did not reset the oil life system. it was showing 24% before the change. I looked up in the manual and did what it said. turn the key to run and press the gas peddle fully three times within 5 seconds. I did that twice and both times it resets to 59%. how do I get it to go to 100% after a fresh oil change. I have a 2003 Chevy Suburban 2500 LT AutoRide.

 

your reseting it with the engine not running correct?

 

correct. the manual said nothing about not starting the engine. I did it three times. the first two times I did not start the engine and it said that it was reset. the third time I started the engine and it said it was reset before and after the engine was started.
