Thanks for the great write up in2pro! I just ordered mine from GM parts direct. It appears the kit part# is now superseded with 19244188.

For a bit of background, I'm towing a 5000 lb. travel trailer with the 3.42 rear axle (RPO = GU6) and no factory installed cooler. Trans temp has reached 217°F on a 100 mile tow through the North Carolina Piedmont in 95°F heat. I'm really hoping that this will keep the temp down a few degrees until I can upgrade to a 1/2 ton pickup.

My '04 w/3:73/ tow package and 95-100 deg in town driving hardly ever in 4th runs not quite 180 deg. Tics spacing on gage make it hard to read. Light weight cargo trl but catches the wind on top cuts mpg down about 3 less on the road. Very good thread and thanks for that. *BW*
