Front end pops when turning?? Help!!
Hello,
I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. My problem is that when ever I turn sharply to the left OR right, the front end pops loudly. I'm not sure what the problem is. Could it be stuck in four-wheel-drive? The truck did sit for about a year until I put a rebuilt motor in it. It did not do the popping noise when it was running good. I saw a lot of forums about clicking noises but none about popping noises when turning left or right. Also when turning left or right, when it pops it feels like something is binding up. It feels as if the truck hesitates and THEN it wants to go. My Tahoe has an 11" lift and 35" tires.
Does anyone have any ideas????

Does it do it when you are sitting in the driveway, if so have someone turn the wheels stop to stop and see if you can identify the issue... sounds to me like it could be a ball joint or tie rod end....
Is any of the front suspension bent, if its starting to stall when turning the power steering pump could be excessively loading if something is bent or binding....
when was the last time an alignment was done or checked?

Could be any of the things mentioned, but...
If you have a Floor Jack, put it under the bottom Ball Joint and barely lift the wheel off the ground. Pull/twist and see it it's a Bushing in one of the Control Arms. Do both sides.
