Fuel gauge flicker problem
i have a 99 suburban and i just noticed the fuel gauge flickering back and forth at a high rate of speed.
what could be causing this?
i recently replaced the fuel tank pressure sensor and im pretty sure all the connectors are tight and fully clicked in.
is the fuel pump or fuel sending unit going bad?
thanks for your input.

My husband has a 01 Z71 Silverado and we just replaced the fuel sending unit for the very same reason. I have a friend with an 06 Trailblazer who has had hers replaced also- same reason. It's messy, but worth it to know how much gas you have!!
Really? I figured they would be the same, since they are so close in year. But I know we didn't replace the pump cause we debated it for a while lol. The thing that was bad on ours- I will try to explain. We pulled the whole thing out of the tank, and there was a metal "sliding" sensor near the float. The piece on the sensor that scrapes across the metal sensor (looks like piano keys) was sprung "open" and failing to make contact with the "piano keys". Whole problem!!! We had to change a connector on the top thing that screws on on top of the gas tank, but it wasn't a big deal. Please forgive all the thingy's and technical description. I have NO IDEA what these pieces are called, only what they look like!
