I've noticed something with my 2009 Suburban LTZ. Whenever I put gas in it and start it up, it kind of almost doesn't start up. Like it has problems starting up after gas has been put in. What could that be?

 

Just a guess but, I'd think that something with emissions in the fuel return. I can't think of the proper term but there is a specific system that deals with the displacement of air by fuel that is now part of emissions that may be not working correctly.

if the purge solenoid doesn't seal, fumes from the tank will vent up the evap line into the throttle body. this creates a flood condition. locate the purge solenoid and remove the plastic fitting the runs to it. blow through the valve; you should not be able to blow through it. if you can, replace it.


or next time you refuel...disconnect the line at the purge solenoid. fill up. if the truck starts normally...replace part.


the evap monitor tests for leaks in the evap system. when this valve doesn't seal a dtc will set and the ses light will illuminate.
