Default Help! 09 tahoe stalls when fueling

My 09 tahoe will stall if I try to keep it running when fueling. If I shut it off and fuel it takes a min to crank back up but then runs great. Has new purge valve. I don’t know what’s going on.

Does it only stall when fueling? You are supposed to shut it off when fueling anyway. You might have a problem with the fuel pump assembly.

Default 09 tahoe

Only stalls when fueling or right after you fuel then try to start it. If you give it a little gas starts to idle and drive fine. No issues except at the gas pump

b4 you refuel...disconnect the vacuum line at the purge solenoid. if the problem is gone...fuel vapours are flowing into the intake and creating a flood condtion.

Okay I’ll give it a try this evening and let you know how it goes. Wait do you mean the side that has the electrical connections? Take that side off and try fueling? Then start the truck with it off or put it back on? Do you think maybe the part from the part store is wrong one or maybe messed up from the store? Also when the truck is running and I take off the fuel cap it will stall

Pretty sure the vehicle has a Purge Valve and a Vent Valve..

To know just this is not enough. You need to know how and when they function and where they are located.

The location of some of them allows foreign matter to plug the filter plus if they are NORMALLY open or NORMALLY closed is essential to know

This might be best if you had a qualified shop with the info, capable scan tool and equip. necessary to do a detailed diagnosis and repair.
