I think you should check out what the error codes are and fix based on them. Start with the most economical fix. Good luck!

gjseamanjr fixed his Stabilitrak problem by replacing the terminal resistor (121 ohm) by rear crossmember and spare tire, and the brake switch. He also replaced the throttle body.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but has this problem ever been figured out. I have a 2007 gmc Yukon that keeps doing this. Says "Service traction control" "service Stabilitrak" "traction control off" "stabilitrak off" and then it dings all the time. I took it to a good mechanic with a tech 2 scanner and he said injectors need cleaned so he did that, replace plugs and wires, and new battery. It has 89000 miles on it and only does it when ideling or driving slow around town and shifts hard.

Im at my witts end with this thing. The biggest part is my wife hauls our kids around in it all the time. IS it safe to drive?????????? I cant believe GM cant fix this problem. Ive taken it to a gm dealer and asked yesterday about it and they didn't have time to look at it but told me that there not sure if it can be fixed that it could be a number of things. Has anyone found a way to fix it or better yet found a tuner/computer guy that can sell me a tuner/programmer to delete this crap out of it. I would pay what ever it took for that. Its a good vehicle but just need this problem to go away. PLEASE HELP

Installed a new mass air flow sensor, still does it. Thinking we need to get a lawyer about this. This is happening all over the internet since 2007 and they cannot pin it down to what is causing it. Just hope what ever is causing it wont hurt anyone in an accident from a faulty gm design, sure that's what it is.

I bought a 2012 Silverado... not month later the transmission went out.. I took it to three different dealerships and they all argued with me about if it was covered under the powertrain warranty.. I finally got it fixed at no cost.. Now I am having the stabilitrak and traction control go off after I drive it a few miles.. I have read alot about the issue and it seems as though most GM vehicles have this issue why doesn't the biggest auto maker in the US do something about a gross mechanical issue throughout the entire general motors line of vehicles? If they can't get it right why dont they do away with it all together? I feel like I have bought a money pit I'm at the dealers mercy about how much this will cost because im sure this time I won't win the argument about the warranty...Please General Motors fix this problem and stop making the consumer pay for your
fautly engineering....

I agree, there are literally thousands of threads on it and there is no one fix for it. They will say they fixed it then a week later it comes back and they blame it on another part and charge the customer for it. Its a never ending battle. Hell I cant even trade ours cause it does it constantly. I had a mechanic friend tell me that he wont accept a GM vehicle that has these symptoms cause he will run the codes and replace part after part after part and he ends up being the bad guy in the deal. He said just one glitch in a multitude of sensors or reading by the computer will trigger this stabilitrac problem. I would pay any amount of money for a custom tuner to make me a tune that would eliminate the stabilitrac all together. Our Yukon has 89000 miles on it and is in pristine condition but this problem makes it a paper weight that my wife is scared to drive.

Default Service stabilatrac /service traction control

I have an 07 Tahoe. I'm having the same problem that I see in this multitude of GM vehicle owners. My "SERVICE STABILATRAC, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" messages keep coming on. My truck slams into 2nd gear. When I start it, my truck sounds like a German diesel vehicle. The loss of power is readily apparent. Can ANYBODY from GM tell us what the problem is? I'm tired of going to the dealer and giving away money for a job they couldn't do. $95 for a diagnosis, a few hundred dollars for a fix that isn't fixed. The "CHECK ENGINE" light stays on, so, I can't use my remote start. I tried switching brands of gasoline and even going to a lower octane. Still the same. I'm guessing GM knows about this, yet, for some unknown reason, won't do anything to ratify it (without charging it's loyal customers excessive fees) HELP!!!!!

All I can say is GOOD LUCK. We are waiting for the dealership to call us so we can get ours in and diagnosed. From the research I have done there is no fix for it cause there are some many different issues that can cause this to happen. One of my questions is are these safe to drive like this, will something fail when my family is in there? My wife has been driving my pickup for that past two weeks cause we are scared our Yukon until it gets fixed. Other people have died from GM faulty ignition switches and such, well if this is a problem that all of these have it makes you wonder if there safe to drive and may fail on the road causing an accident. Our closest dealer is 50 miles away and I am going to have to find a car trailer to load it on and get there cause we wont drive it. Maybe we are over reacting but we care about our family and we care about others on the road and don't want to put anyone at risk. GM BUY THESE BACK FROM US
