Is there anyway to decode the VIN and find out what options are installed on a Tahoe or Suburban?

My VIN is 3GNFK16317G148103

 

Look for the sticker in the glovebox..then do a search for the RPO codes. That will tell you exactly what you have.

Thank you, that was very helpful. I don't know why I didn't think of this first, but I called over to the dealer where I purchased the vehicle and they faxed me over a list of all the RPO codes as the vehicle was built. Now I don't have to write them all down and look them up!

 

I have found it helpful to take a picture of the RPO label in the glove box and keep it in a folder on my computer, that way I can reference it a lot easier then writing them down or having to go out in the garage and take everything out to recheck it...

My 07 Suburban does not have the optional Towing Pkg. It is rated for 7400 lbs. Wondering if I can comfortably tow my 4500 lb fishing boat on trips of 500 miles or more without damaging the tranny? And will I be the slowest guy on the interstate? Thanks, firetiger

You should be OK if you use the Tow/Haul mode. Does the trailer have brakes?

Thanks in2pro and 73shark (like your LTZ), still a little rusty on how to respond. My boat has electric brakes and tandem axles and puts approximately 500 to 700 lbs to the hitch. This is common for most trailers because if you do not have this amount of weight, your trailer is not set up correctly, placement of axles, etc. I'm concerned about the overall weight I am towing. Concerned mostly about the tranny. Thanks again, firetiger
