How to relearn tire monitors
I have a 07 Tahoe LT3. I just rotated the tires and I'm trying to relearn the tire sensors. It's not going to happen. I read the manual and it seems simple enough but I must be doing something wrong. Can anyone help? I really dont want to bring it back to the dealer.....

RE: How to relearn tire monitors
1st, make sure you have a way to reinflate close by (air compressor or short trip to gas station) When I did mine I had to let a lot of air out of each tire before the horn beeped. My pressures were real low when I was done.
Here's the procedure that worked for me. I know you said you checked manual but you must be missing something
The TPMS sensors may also be matched to eachtire/wheel position by increasing or decreasingthe tire's air pressure. If increasing the tire'sair pressure, do not exceed the maximum inflationpressure indicated on the tire's sidewall. You will have two minutes to match the firsttire/wheel position, and five minutes overall tomatch all four tire/wheel positions. If it takes longerthan two minutes, to match the first tire andwheel, or more than five minutes to match all fourtire and wheel positions the matching processstops and you will need to start over. The TPMS sensor matching process is outlinedbelow:1. Set the parking brake.2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN with the engine off.3. Using the DIC, press the vehicle informationbutton until the RELEARN TIRE POSITIONSmessage displays. If your vehicle does nothave the DIC buttons, press the trip odometerreset stem located on the instrument panelcluster until the RELEARN TIRE POSITIONSmessage displays.4. If your vehicle has the DIC buttons, press theset/reset button. The horn will sound twice toindicate the TPMS receiver is ready, andthe TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message willdisplay. If your vehicle does not have the DICbuttons, press and hold the trip odometerreset stem until the horn chirps twice and theTIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message isdisplayed.5. Start with the driver's side front tire.6. Remove the valve cap from the valve capstem. Activate the TPMS sensor byincreasing or decreasing the tire's air pressurefor five seconds, or until a horn chirpsounds. The horn chirp, which make take upto 30 seconds to sound, confirms that thesensor identification code has been matchedto this tire and wheel position. To decreaseair-pressure out of a tire you can use thepointed end of the valve cap, a pencil-style airpressure gage, or a key.7. Proceed to the passenger's side front tire, andrepeat the procedure in Step 6.8. Proceed to the passenger's side rear tire, andrepeat the procedure in Step 6.9. Proceed to the driver's side rear tire, andrepeat the procedure in Step 6.10. After hearing the confirming horn chirp for thedriver's side rear tire, the horn chirp will soundtwo more times to signal the tire learningmode is no longer active. Turn the ignitionswitch to LOCK.11. Set all four tires to the recommended airpressure level as indicated on the Tireand Loading Information label.12. Put the valve caps back on the valve stemsThe spare tire does not have a TPMS sensor. If you replace one of the road tires with the spare, the SERVICE TIRE MONITOR message will bedisplayed on the DIC screen. This message shouldgo off once you re-install the road tire containingthe TPMS sensor.

RE: How to relearn tire monitors
I have tried everything repeatably add air release air at least 6 times with no luck. The most I can get is the first tire driver front. After that my time runs out and I have to start over. I guess it's back to the dealer (I hate that place).... Thanks for you're input.......

RE: How to relearn tire monitors
Have all of your caps off and be ready to go. Also use a key or something that allows you to let air out faster.Like I said you have to let a lot of air out. It's not so much how long but how fast you let it out. If you only drop a pound or two in 30 seconds it may not register.

RE: How to relearn tire monitors
I know I have done that. I increased the air pressure to 40lbs and then even removed the valve stem guts to release the air faster, thebest I could do is one wheel, driver front.....
