Default Key out of ignition when OFF

2004 Tahoe. How can I be able to remove the key from the ignition when it is in the OFF position without having to turn it to the LOCK position to remove it. I want to be able to remove the key when OFF so that the doors alarm won't sound and I can open the doors often without it sounding off ? Thanks. *BW*

I don't understand what and why. There shouldn't be any noises when you open a door with the key out of the ignition. And no one, no professional, will help you so that the key could be removed in any position other than LOCK. Too easy for bad things to happen.

its designed so it can't be removed unless its in lock.
your options are to; not lock the door or get a fob. if you have a base model...install a door lock receiver from the junkyard and have the dealer program the bcm to add the option.
