Default Lifter not pumping up and oil pressure low at idle

Ok I have a 2010 Chevy suburban 1500 LT 4wd with the AFM and VVT I recently had a failed lifter cylinder 7 intake it collapsed. When i was driving it the sabilink come on the dash and the check engine light. I also noticed my oil pressure dropped to about 15psi. so i replace all the lifters (included everything for the heads) i replaced oil pump pick up tube with new oring also replaced the VLOM with new screen and still oil pressure will not come up so then i replaced the cam retainer plate and noticed the gasket was gone. I figured i had found the problem but the oil pressure still low after hot idle at about 15 psi. I’ve owned this vehicle for over 10 years and maintained it regularly. At normal operating temp in the past the oil pressure was always at 38/40 psi. And with the truck in motion at about 55 psi. I can’t figure out why my oil pressure isn’t going back to its normal pressure my truck does have 225,000 miles on it. Only thing i haven’t checked is the AFM pressure relief valve in the oil pan. Any help would be appreciated thank you

My '11 5.3 with 146k miles is always showing 20 at hot idle. Always has for the 110k miles I've owned it. About 40-45 at 1800 rpm cruising. Sensor and screen under it seems to be the most common problem I've have ever read about it. Only use GM sensors, aftermarket are junk. That's using 5-30w synth. oils and GM oil filters.

I’ve replaced everything in the oiling system including the sensor i think the only thing i have to check now is a spun or walked out cam bearing and i do have VVT so it wouldn’t surprise me that cam bearing number 2 has walked out so oil is just spraying into the gallis

Default Oil pressure

To everyone mentioning that 15 psi is good. It might be for a 5.3 none afm and vvt but the afm system needs 28 to 35 psi to operate properly

My '11 is AFM and I tow with it. Range AFM eliminator is the only mod in it. AFM works if I unplug the module also. Motor is solid, quiet and hard pulling.
Good mechanical gauge installed is the only true measure of oil pressure. Factory one is not to be taken as an absolute reading.

I understand. I have used a gauge on the block and at the VLOM and the pressure is exactly what the dash indicates

I would suspect the AFM pressure relief valve in the oil pan or Pump pressure relief valve. Also make sure oil pan is tight, the oil filter flows through the gasket to the block. Most likely 1 of the 3 if both gauges read low pressure.

i’ve replaced the oil pan gasket and the oil pump the only thing i haven’t replace is the pressure relief valve in the pan or the cam bearings

I would check it. Also make sure pan bolts are tight. Last check is to tighten all Valley Lifter Oil Manifold bolts to 18 foot pounds. Know issue on some to be so loose you can turn by hand and can definitely internally bleed off pressure at the VLOM gasket. Also try a UPF48R GM filter
