Default Nav dimming

I'm new to the forum thing so sorry if this should go to another thread - can anyone tell me how to dim the navigation/radio screen further than the interior light control dimmer takes it? I guess my eyes are more light sensitive than some, but it's still way to bright for long night driving at the lowest dashboard brightness setting. Thanks.

I made you a new thread.

Re: wiper blade - here's a replacement blade at Advance Auto for $10. Claims to fit and is the old style which should be easily refillable.

Welcome to the forum,
What year is your vehicle? I believe the Nav unit also has dimming options, I don't have the built in Nav but believe I have seen this topic come up before...

yes it does - under the menu portion. you can adjust the brightness for both day and night driving and you can have it switch to day/night or stay day all the time.

Default night

I will often turn the screen off at night.

all the steering wheel controls / radio / voice commands still work fine.

MENU -->> Display --> OFF.

I am aware that the Navigation has a dimming setting. But that is to dim the mapping / navigation. I have it set on automatic and it goes into night mode. However, if I'm not using the navigation but I am using the radio it illuminates the screen brighter than I like. As mentioned in the first posting, I dim the dash lights (and this includes the Navigation/Radio screen) to the minimum, but the screen is still way too bright. Help!!

I'm thinking of devising a window tint attachment for night driving. I await your thoughts. Incidentally, it's a 2007 Suburban LTZ.

i never thought it was that bright even at night - sounds like nothing else that you can really do other than
- put something over it
- keep in navigation mode
- turn the screen all the way off
