Default NAV RADIO reprogrammed

Took the truck in for routine oil change and had them look into the "low stereo volume" issue noted by Tahoe07 in the thread https://chevroletforum.com/m_14997/tm.htm

So I pick it up and the stereo definitely sounds louder and the subwoofer seems like it's actually working now. Here's the rub. All of my radio presets show the channel number or frequency. Before, they would show the name of the channel (i.e. CNN, Fox News).

Anyone have this happen? I liked it better the old way. With XM I can't possibly remember the channel #'s of the stations. Is there a way to select this in the Menu?

BTW: The service order says the radio was reprogrammed per bulletin #06-08-44-037.

This falls under category of be careful what you wish for. Seriously tho, my presets seem to show whatever happens to be on the screen when I assign it. So sometimes it's the freq and sometimes it's the station name or motto or whatever.

Does your unit have an "i" button. You should be able to program whether you want name, category, song name. I dont have Nav Head unit so mine is probably different, but that where I program the type of display I see.

Mine did the same thing. I went back to each of the presets and reprogrammed each station and the preset where the numbers are. Once I did that it replaced all of the number presets with a station name. At least it worked with all the XM channels, I do not listen to regular radio. Give a try and let us know.

It labels the preset with whatever is on the screen at the time. I had a preset named INXS for the first two weeks til I figured out what the heck was going on.

Thanks for the input, folks.

I reprogrammed all the presets and all is well. The names came back on the softkeys, just like before.
