Default Need new shocks - suggestions please?

I have a 1999 K1500 Suburban with 116K. Recently I've noticed that it's time for new shocks (my mechanic confirms this). I figure I'll save by buying them online and having a shop install them as opposed to having a shop order and install. However, I have no idea what brand or model to buy, or what I should be paying for them. I should also mention that this vehicle is never taken off-road.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

I second the Bilsteins. A great shock, in fact that's what went on the Tahoe at 800 miles after the drop. I now have 60k on them. Looked at them today in fact and no signs of giving up.

Yup. They aren't cheap, but neither is a good hooker.

Spend a little extra for the quality.

Thanks guys.

I have another issue though. Which of these is the correct one if I want to keep the stock ride height?

These: Bilstein 5100 Series Adj Shock

Or these: Bilstein HD Shock

I go with the non adjustable. Every truck I bought, I put them on.
