I always had a squeaky roof but Since my lowering.... 2/3. My roof liner towards the 3rd row is squeaking and cracking like CRAZYnowwhen I hit bumps and even street reflectors.

It's driving me insane!!!

Will my dealer give me a problem if I tell them to fix this... and if they dont. what can I do?

I've heard that it was an attachment issue around the dome light or vent. Take it to the dealer and see.

I too have had a noisy roofliner ....among other rattles.... When I took the Tahoe in I didn't have any problem with the service dept ... they tightened everything thatwas rattling...I believe the "clips" that hold it in place were not installed properly the first time. Now.. I have an appointment to fix several other rattles....they had to order the top part of the dash because it was broken and rattling ....thus driving me crazy! The inside door handles began to peel the "chrome" causing sharp edges. The piece that the rear emblem is stuck to and the back hatch handle both had to be ordered becuase it was broken and starting to come off.... Not to mention that the last time I had it in the greasy service guys failed to watch what they were touching on the interior...nice greasy hand prints.... They will also be doing a nice detail/clean-up job this time.... I love my Tahoe, but these little problems and hassles are annoying and time consuming... So I feel all of your pain!

pull out the dome light and stuff and rolled up sock or whatever to apply pressure between the dome light assembly and the roof,,, if worked for me, no more rattling, although can anyone tell me how to fix the rattle coming from the engine bay or somewhere in that vacinity, it seems to rattle/vibrate when I either let off the gas and coast and/or coming tostop or slowing down, its very annoying.... anyone have this similiar problem???? also, I have a ticking sound coming from the passenger side dash?? any one??????

Check this out. I thought my headliner was making a popping noise right behind the driver side 2nd row seat. Turns out it's the windshield wipers! Yes, the windshield wipers. For some reason my driver side wiper makes a popping noise starting at the 45 mph mark but the acoustics make it sound like it's coming from behind the second row.

Can you imagine the noise if it was a $10 wiper instead of a $30 wiper?[]

I had the same thing happen to my new '07 . A squeak , rattle started and seemed to come from everywere. []We finally found it to be coming from the rear light assembly ( on the headliner over 3 rd row seat ). I took the light assembly out and found that GM uses foam pads that have adhesive on both top and bottom of pad to go between the headliner and roof structure. The adhesive had given way ( due to temp ?? ). I put a piece of cloth padding between the roof and foam pads and the noise has stopped completly.

I had the same problem. I found where the noise was coming from. It is from the third dome light area. To be more specific it's the microphone hitting the top of the metal cage. You can see it once you remove the dome light and hit the headliner. I just cut an old sock and folded it in between. I also adjusted the foam pads to make sure there wasn't any play in between them on the metal cage. So far so good. Hey it beats making a trip to the dealer and spending countless hours there.
