Interesting post I came across, let the hood close and settle prior to fulling closing to prevent finger dents...

As you can see if you read some of the posts, the problem was very prevalent on the NBS, especially the 07s. I think they backed off on the gas struts cuz my new one closes easier than the 07 did. But I agree that the correct way to shut it is to pull it down slowly 'til about a foot from latching and then push it on down. Once you've got the hood past the over center point on the strut, it goes down a lot easier.
