Exclamation Radio/Navigation Question

Hello all I am new to the forum so please excuse me if I go about this the wrong way, or if I have posted in the wrong area. I own a 2007 Tahoe without navigation, I just the basic radio head unit. I am looking at putting a navigation unit into my truck. However I want to keep the factory look, as well as the steering wheel controls, on star, so on and so forth. Is it possible to get a factory navigation unit for a 2007 Tahoe, if so where? I have been searching high and low for the on the internet as well as calling my local dealer. If the factory navigation units are available how tough are they to instal? Any insight and pointers would be greatly appreciated. especially those that lead me to a factory navigation unit! Thanks in advance!!

thank you for such a quick response this may once again sound stupid but how do i determine if my truck is or isn't equipped with a DVD so i know what head unit I am supposed to be looking for. Also how do I know if I have Bose or not if not, what am I looking for the thread seems geared towards Bose systems.

Welcome to the forum.

If you have RSE, then you'll have a DVD head unit. You'll also have the DVD logo on the head unit. If you have a Bose unit, the A-pillar tweeters will say Bose.

Thanks for the info...no Bose on the tweeters, and no RSE in my truck or DVD on the current head unit, so do the instructions posted earlier still apply? Or do i need to find a different navigation head unit?

I would think that either a non-DVD unit or a DVD unit would work.

Advent offers a OE-styled double din nav system that I have experience with. Retains steering wheel audio controls, retains onstar, offers rear USB (iPod in glovebox), DVD, satellite radio, bluetooth, rear RCA out, etc. They make it for Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon/Yukon XL/Acadia/Enclave/Traverse/Sierra/Silverado. Good looking unit, easy to use, and priced around $1,700

Welcome to Advent
