Rear Emblem for 2007 Tahoe
I just used regular adhesion promotor! Cleaned, alcoholed it, adhesion promotor, color paint, top clear coat.
I am afraid that camera is staying black. To nervous to paint it. Also, if I were to mess it up, I dont want to even think about uninstalling/reinstalling another one! If I would have thought about it before I slapped it on, I would have painted it!
On the emblem. I have one coming that has the factory gold center. I am going to just paint the gold center part white and leave the chrome surround.
I was thinking maybe I should just paint this one completely white! What do you think? Would it even be seen? I just dont really need 2 of basically the same thing!

I took my rear gold bow tie off today. the outside temp was about 42 degrees and I had just washed. I put plastic scraper between the two pieces and the whole gold bow tie popped right off. It didnt break in pieces like so many others. I was wondering if i could do the same with the front. Has anyone tried taking the front gold bow tie off?
I just did. It has two 10mm tiny nuts and some double sided tape between the bowtie and the base. Im in the process of painting it.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I painted this one all white for a few reasons. First is that this was just the chrome underlay bowtie. I tried to tape a border, and I wasnt 100% satisfied. Secondly, I ordered a complete OEM bowtie with the gold part still on. So I will paint just the gold overlay on my new one and that will give me the chrome border, so it will be better than the first one I tried to put the border on. I too think the chrome border looks better. But the all white doesnt bother me either! Anyways, thanks for the opinions and I agree on the chrome border!
Now for the wiper. I think there is a thread on this. But here is how you can get it off.
First, on the left side the cap pops up so you can get to the nut. Just pull up on the left side of the cap, it will come loose and swivels out of the way! You will see the nut, it is a 13mm nut. Take it off.
Next, you should be able to pull the wiper arm off. The arm flexes, you will see that it will bend. Just try to flex it and pull around and it will come off. YOu have to flex it just at the right angle!
Next you have the arm off the bolt, the washer fluid hose is still hooked up. You will need to unhook the washer hose from the arm, it should just pull off! Then on the back of the wiper undo the hose from the actual wiper arm slots.
The wiper will then need to be broken down into 3 pieces. First, the left side, the bolt cover that you swiveled up. It just pops off. It has 2 small prongs, pull outward on each side and you will they will pop out!
Then, to remove the end with the wiper on it. It just snaps out. You will notice on the back where it connects. Get it at the right angle and it should pop right out, might have to use a little elbow grease on this part.
Lastly, just flex the actual wiper blade out of one end, then slide it all the way out!
Now you will wash the parts. I used dawn and a tooth brush. Then I rinsed them with cold water. Then put them in front of a fan heater to dry them.
Next I prepped them with adhesion promotor, then paint, then clear top coat.
When prepping/painting and clear coating make sure to take you time. VERY VERY light first coats, and I usually do light coats all the way through. It took me the entire day to do this right! Just be patient and it should work like a charm. But make sure you use very light coats allowing each one to dry thorougly in between coats. Let me know if you have any other questions. BE PATIENT and dont try to do this in a hurry!
