Default Rear Fascia Closeout

Has anyone put the trailer hitch cover (rear fascia) on there Tahoe/Suburban? I bought one but I have not put it on yet. Do I need to put the templet up against the hitch? I would think so but just want to make sure first.

not on the hitch.
1. lay down with feet under truck.
2. with the print showing, other side is blank, place the template over the top of the hitch up agaisnt the painted bumper. The template contours with the bumper it will only go in one spot. The curve in the template is contoured with the bumper.

e is correct. I almost made that mistake because it was hard to see the edge of bumper cover anh hitch due to both being dark colors.

I can say that my cover is very tight. If I had pushed to template forward towards to hitch frame it would not have worked.

yep. on the upper part of the bumper inside of the hitch area. take your template and flush the backside of the template(with the curve) to the back edge of the bumper. The template looks just like the top inner bumper.

i'm about to install. when under the truck facing up with the template held to the upper part of the hitch area do I push it all the way towards the front of the truck or flush with the edge of the back of the truck bumper? it is very unclear and I don't want to drill wrong. i'm assuming that since there are indents for the hitch on the template they want me to push to it?
anyone have pix of the bracket installed?? thx

On the plastic bumper cover towerds the front of the truck. Do not lay the templet on the metel receiver.

Reading E's post... it appears that the template is on underside of the plastic with the rear edge of the template aligned with the rear edge of the bumper. There are a lot of references to the curves matching in this position.
