Default Rear Windshield Wiper Not Working

I have a 2004 Chevy Suburban and the rear windhsield wiper does not work on either setting. Windshield wiper fluid does not dispense either. How can I troubleshoot where exactly the fault is?

How can I check that the motor is receiving power?
Is there a fuse or relay that could need replacing?
I'm reluctant to replace the motor but how can I check to see if the motor is the problem?

Thank you for your time
-Andy

You need a volt meter to check and see if it is getting power. Also check the fuse you just might have a blown fuse.

I checked the fuse and it is functioning properly. How can I access the motor to see if it's receiving power? What should the voltage be on a fully functional motor?

Go to the motor connector and check for 12V when it's on hi.

Default Rear wiper/ Suburban

Same thing happened to my 2003 Suburban. The wiring in the boot at the top of the liftgate has a short in the plastic connector. You can buy a new wiring harness that runs all the way to the front for BIG bucks and rip your car appart trying to run it behind the panels or you can splice a thick wire to jump the connection as my mechanic did. For FREE!

How do you know which wire to splice?

Default Don't forget

When doing this repair , which I found to be the ground, the tailgate must be shut in order for wiper to work. It shares the " latch closed signal. I like a fool didn't realize this and had it fixed only to not know it for another hour. Lol
