Great minds think alike....the electical tape trick was my eventual solution. I still do not think I caught every retaining clip though. Especially along the rubber gasket on the rear door.

I know what you mean about the clips at the weather strip. Just make sure that you have the strip on top of the trim and not under it. Also don't try to remove the rubber - it's glued down with some super-sticky and super-stringy adhesive.

Did this last night and Helllooooooo. I got lots of range now. Great fix for an annoying problem. Great thing is I only did it cause you guys said the side curtain airbag cylinder was in there. I got some pictures to train my firefighters on and fixed the range. Here's a few more pics of the airbags. The wire loom on the side is where the antenna is normally located. Mine has already been detached. You guys gotta try this, it works great!

I have an update on the 2-way remote start from GM. I sent them an email tryin' to get a "preview" if you will. Here's the response I got from them.

Thanks for your email; it's always good to hear from our customers!

We are very excited about the 2-Way Advanced Remote Start and would love to equip your fleet with this new product when it becomes available for retail sale (through your local GM dealer). It is scheduled for release late in the first quarter of '07 for GM's 2007 full-size trucks (including Yukon XL). Please understand that this is estimated timing; the release date is subject to change.

While we certainly appreciate your enthusiasm and desire to help us out with beta testing, GM does not test pre-production products in the public domain. We have a comprehensive engineering process designed to "work out all the bugs," so to speak, before our customers ever use one of our products.

Thanks again for your interest in this new accessory!

So there it is, and update saying really nothing right. LOL. Hey, I tried!!!

So I guess that all of these things everyone is experiencing are not "bugs" because a) they've worked those out with a comprehensive engineering process and b) GM doesn't test their products in the "public domain"[sm=roll.gif]

On a serious note, who did you send your e-mail to?

have any of you tried placing the remote under your chin.... it will extend the range of your remote. Ive done it on all my cars with alarms.
Just tested it on my 07 Impala. Using GPS- and an empty lot with nothing done to RKE.
normal operation-300 ft. under the chin- 400ft.

I own an audio shop we now have GM factory remote start upgrades we can either extend the range upto 2500 feet with a new remote or we can extend the range upto 2500 feet along with a 2-way confirmation LCD remote. There not real cheap but i have sold and installed alot of the 2-way systems people love them they work so far and and then you can tell the cars running just by the remote its real nice just thought i would let you all know.
