I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ with navigation. The DVD/CD player has stopped working.
I am interested in replacing the navigation unit anyway since it is looks old, and operates in a clunky fashion. I would also like to install a navigation override so the nav can be operated (by passenger of course!) while the car is moving.
So, then I thought I would like to replace the climate control unit too since the button labels have worn off and look really bad. I heard you have to replace the unit, you cant just replace the buttons.

Has anyone done this? There seem to be a selection of aftermarket touchscreen units that claim to work in the 2007 Tahoe.

 

Check w/ Crutchfield. They're good about helping and have harness/adapters.

 

Yup, CF is where I went. You'll have to get a special box to keep all your factory chimes and steering wheel controls. CF gives you half off that box. You'll also need a harness to keep your rear DVD operational. All of those control units in there are separate, meaning the climate controls and the bar with the parking assist are all separate. Most nav units have a parking brake bypass available for them. If its a Kenwood I think you can just ground the brake wire.
