Welcome to the forum.

You have to remove the end pieces to allow the cross-rails to slide out.

Default Cross Bar Removal from Roof Rack
Thanks for the help. I removed the two screws holding the rail back mount and then released the clip using a screwdriver to lift it up.

(2020 Tahoe LTZ)
